Weekly Sprints explained

Weekly Sprints are an amazing way of managing Ecommerce Development Projects. On this page I will explain why I work with Weekly Sprints and what the benefits of a sprint-based system are.

What are Weekly Sprints?

Weekly Sprints are a project management technique used primarily in software development. They involve breaking down the development process into short, manageable one-week periods called Sprints. During each sprint, myself and any involved partners work on a set of predefined tasks, aiming to deliver a functional product increment by the end of each week. The progress of each step of the Sprint can be followed through ClickUp.

What are the benefits of Weekly Sprints?

Weekly sprints are great for developers and stakeholders alike. They offer a great deal of flexibility which allows for quick adaptation to changes and feedback. With weekly sprints, each stakeholder sees progress regularly, which keeps everyone happy and on track. Plus, by keeping everybody on a weekly loop, it helps us catch and fix problems early instead of having to adjust a large-scale planning due to scope creep, unforseen changes or a simple change of mind.

What does the planning of a Weekly Sprint look like?

Before we start our project together, we will set a day of the week where will meet and discuss the progress. You can pick the day of the week, but once you selected your day it's crucial to stick to it for the duration of the project. This greatly improves flow and fidelity in the project.

Apart from that, it's also crucial to be timely with feedback on the deliverables of each sprint. You will receive a invitation weekly to give feedback through our visual feedback tool.

Our weekly meeting is a crucial part of smooth project management. Within these meetings, that typically last between 30 minutes and an hour, we highlight the current progress and discuss the current backlog and its potential influence on the next sprint goal.

Expectations for next sprint goal are set and added to the backlog, which will then be prioritized and checked for potential progress lag. At the end of the meeting each stakeholder and any partner involved in the project knows exactly what to expect for this week's sprint.

Can I start / pause / cancel a Weekly Sprint at any time?

While it's generally advisable to complete a sprint once it has started to maintain momentum and consistency, circumstances may arise where starting, pausing, or canceling a sprint becomes necessary. However, such decisions should be made judiciously, considering the potential impact on project timelines, morale and stakeholder expectations. Communication is key to asure alignment among partners and stakeholders. Please refer to the Cancellation Policy for all details.

What if I need less than a week?

Simply put: I will need more than one week to make a webshop for you. Typically, projects run for 4-8 weeks.

How does billing work with Weekly Sprints?

Billing for weekly sprints typically follows a straightforward process. All billing is done on a weekly basis and in advance through automatic payments using billing through Stripe. Account holder is billed for the upcoming week's sprint at the beginning of each week, ensuring that payment is received before work begins. This predictable billing cycle helps maintain financial stability for every stakeholder, while also streamlining administrative processes.
